Children's Ministry
This year, along with the youth as well as the adults, the children from pre-school to year 6 will be learning about Esther. Instead of three separate marquees, there will be one very big one with zones for different age groups.
About 40 minutes of each morning will be dedicated to an activity selected by the children - either craft, performing arts or outdoor activities. The first two of these will be running as one big project for the whole week, culminating in the children performing the story of Esther with scenery, costumes, etc.
Full programme to follow
For children in Preschool, KS1 (Reception to Year 2) and KS2 (Years 3 to 5).
Meetings Monday to Friday, 9.45am to 12.15pm, in the Children's Marquees.
(Pre-registered children only)
YOUTH PROGRAMME: LIVING IN THE FREEDOM OF BEING GOD'S SLAVE - Looking at the Book of Esther
- Monday: The cost of freedom
- looking at the cost of obedience and leaving comfort behind. - Angie Taylor - Tuesday: The path to freedom
- looking at how humility is the mark of a servant and the path to freedom as we live in dependence on God - just as Esther was humble and was dependent on Mordecai. Humility verses pride: God humbles the proud but gives grace to the humble. - Martin Bunkum - Wednesday: The fight for freedom
- There will always be opposition in our fight for freedom just as there was for Mordecai and the Jews concerning Haman. - Richard Powell - Thursday: The offer of freedom
- The Jews are offered freedom if they will unify and fight together. Looking at the offer of salvation. - Mark Davy - Friday: The fullness of freedom
- Looking at the freedom of God's people and how they overcame their enemies this was because Esther and God's people trusted God's will and not their own, they were dependent on him and yielded to him through fasting and prayer, they were surrendered because they were brought to a desperate situation where all they could do was to turn to God and the outcome was freedom. The message of surrender is the key to freedom and fullness of salvation. - Hilarie Blair
In all of these teachings God will be centre stage and we will be constantly looking at his heart and character.
Youth Pastors Pete and Angie Taylor

Pete was born in Plymouth, used to be a car valeter, met Angie at a house party, became great friends, fell hopelessly in love, got married about a year later. They have two daughters Allanah who's 12 and Cheyenne who's 9 and a dog called Candi. Pete enjoys mountain climbing, white water rafting, going to the cinema, table tennis, snooker and football and is a big fan of the best team in the world West Ham United. Ever since becoming youth leaders in September 2004, they have put their hearts into working with young people, they know God has called them into this ministry and are very excited about the future.
Angie was born and raised in Plymouth, she studied beauty therapy and was qualified at the age of 17, shortly afterwards she left home and met Pete at a house party, they enjoyed a very valuable and precious friendship which then turned to romance. 4 months into their relationship Angie became a Christian and married Pete one year later at the age of 19. She has worked in various places ranging from factories to the Estée Lauder department in Dingles Store, Plymouth. She became a mother at the age of 22. Angie and Pete felt a clear call from God to become youth leaders in 2004. Angie and Pete's passion is for young Christians to live set apart, holy and Godly lives, also to bring awareness that the world and all it offers is nothing compared to knowing God, who gives life in all its fullness. Angie loves prayer and spending time with God, she enjoys mountain climbing, white water rafting, table tennis, darts, watching movies and eating together with family and friends, but most of all she loves the adventurous life of being in a personal relationship with the living God.
